I write for a leading stag do organiser, DesignaVenture.
All these posts and blogs are about everything to do with stags including celebrity stag do new and some priceless stag do ideas and tips.
I try to be as unbiased as I can.
So you know you have a stag do to organise for next year and the lads all want to travel outside of the UK, so when do you need to look at booking?
The general rule for booking flights is; the earlier you book, the cheaper they will be. This is not guaranteed as flight prices can fluctuate, there is no pattern to the market so if you see a good price go for it.
Most low cost airlines have release dates throughout the year, for example on 19th September Easyjet released their flights for summer 2020. If you can get organised around the release date you have a good chance of getting reasonable fares, before demand increases and so does the price.
To help with your budget, be sure to check all of your local airports and be flexible on dates. If your closest airport is London Heathrow, consider also travelling from London Stansted. If you can get a cheaper fare it might outweigh the travel costs of getting transport to Stansted airport. It is also becoming more popular to have a mid-week stag do abroad as weekends are when flight prices are at their highest. If your group can get the time off work, this is a great option to consider.
Basically, the sooner you can start getting organised the better and if you really want to be money savvy, there are newsletters you can sign up to send you alerts for new flight deals.
Whenever you choose to book, please be sure to book with an ATOL registered company like DesignaVenture to keep your money secure.
The last time we spoke on this newsfeed about how the DesignaVenture office can be more environmentally friendly was on the 25th April, our aim was by the end of 2019 is for the office to go 99%* paper free.
It’s now the 1st October and we are ahead of schedule, in fact after a lot of blood, sweat, tears and tantrums (especially from the boss), we are proud to announce that all our procedures are now digital and not a sheet of paper will be printed unless there is no other way.
*99% Paper free means that if there is no other way we will print, such as when a provider needs contract sent back to them in the post or when a client requests their Essential Travel Pack in the post.
Otherwise, the staff have been fully trained in new procedures and meetings have taken place on being environmentally conscious inside and outside of work.
On top of being paper free our website sits on a Carbon Neutral server.

Currently we have noticed a huge influx of enquiries and bookings for 2020.
We have been speaking to other wedding companies such as Venues, Marque Suppliers and Bridal shops and they have all advised us that 2020 is going to be massive in the wedding world, which basically means one thing, you need to booking your stag and hen weekend ASAP as popular weekends will get booked up.
Booking your 2020 stag party or hen do will mean:
You’ll get your 2020 packages and activities at the 2019 price
Get a free place based on 15+ people (usually it’s 20+ people)
Get the BEST accommodation
Get 1st choice of activity times
Get people locked in on your date
All we need to get your booking confirmed and price locked down is a single £30 deposit. We will then set a date for the per person deposits to be paid by.
Why do we ask for per person deposits?
From our experience, in order to get people to commit to your booking, a little financial commitment will lock them in.
If you leave it until 5 weeks before you go (which is your balance stage) you’ll find over half of the people who said yes, will drop out.
You don’t want to end up with an unhappy stag or hen, so book early, get people to commit and sit back, relax in the knowledge that already you have a job licked for 2020!
We have gone completely mad this May and are giving you an offer for your Hen. Book your hen party in May for any departure date and she will go completely free providing you book 10 or more people for the whole event (usually the hen free discount is based on 20 people!).
For example; if you decide to book our very popular Ascot Horse Racing Weekend, for the 18th October 2019 which is based in Reading and includes 2 nights in a 4* hotel with breakfast, entry into Ascot with a drinks package plus transport to and from the races.
The price is £160.00 per person however if you book 10 people, you would only have to pay for 9 people, what an incredible deal!
Now, it’s up to you how you decide to use this discount, more than likely you could decide to let the hen go for free as her wedding expenses could be astronomical however, if the hen is minted you could spread the massive £160 off everyone’s place.
When booking please QUOTE: HENFREE and please note that this offer does not apply to flight inclusive packages.
We are offering an incredible offer where your stag can go for free, that’s right your stag will pay NOTHING, NADA, NOT A NOOKA, when you book any of our stag dos for 10 or more people – bear in mind this is usually 20 or more people, so it’s quite the saving.
Do I have to give the discount to the stag or can I spread the saving across the whole group?
It’s not compulsory that the discount has to be applied to the stag’s place, it’s basically up to the stag do organiser the person who books the stag do with DesignaVenture how this discount is applied.
Do I need to quote anything when booking?
Yes – when booking please quote: STAGFREE
Do I have to travel in May?
Not at all, you can book to travel in June, July or even May 2020, you just need to make your booking within the month of May 2019.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit to get a stag do booked with DesignaVenture is £30 in total. We have more details on our How To Book page including information on when your balance is due etc.
Does this offer apply to flight inclusive packages?
Unfortunately not. You can book a stag do abroad without flights and you would get the offer, just not a flight inclusive package.
So, don’t delay, call 01432 830000 and claim your stag free place.
Since 2015 we have been working on using less paper, and have achieved a 50% reduction in the use of paper in the office, which we feel is a good achievement.
However, “good” isn’t good enough and like most things we do, we want to excel in it and reducing our office’s environmental footprint is one of those things. So by the end of this year we aim to go almost 99% paper free.
There will be some clients who still like to receive their information in the post and an electronic gift voucher sometimes doesn’t cut the mustard, however in all other departments we hope to cut the use of any paper.
By not using paper, we will also reduce the amount of printer toner cartridges we use plus saving electricity on not having to turn the printer on and leaving it on all day.
