Remember Meryl Streep in that film, The River Wild? Yep, with raging rapids, frothing water and a guarantee you’ll get absolutely soaked, this could be you on one of our most popular and very energetic of hen party activities. This makes the Thorpe Park log flume look like a splash in the bath as you experience spectacular countryside and the natural currents of some of the UK and Europe’s most picturesque rivers.
Before you brave the water you will meet your guide for the trip who will give your stag party a full safety and instruction brief.
Then you’ll be kitted out in wetsuits, buoyancy aids (why do boys make those silly jokes?), waterproof jackets, wetsuit boots and helmets. Are you starting to get it? Waterproof mascara at the ready, we can feel it in our fingers - you’re going to get wet wet wet.
Now when we say raft, don’t panic, it’s not oil barrels and planks lashed together with tree roots, we are talking highly durable padded vessels that have something to hang on to. But this ain’t no idle drift where you slack off while everyone’s back is turned, it’s most definitely a team effort or you’re literally up the creek without a paddle. It will feel like you’re in the Rockies of Canada, rushing between the boulders and being thrown around at break-neck speed, this will certainly kill or cure any water-fobes.
As you become more confident in the raft, the session may throw a few surprises your way, with the unpredictable nature of the river, and a cheeky guide on the back who knows what can happen. Oarsome!
You must be able to swim at least 25 metres.
