This beats the log flume, in fact any other water activity you have ever done! Tubing really does see you free-wheeling it down river in an inflatable donut with nothing to hear but your screams!
Think of white-water rafting, solo, no paddles but in a much smaller vessel that's round, like a huge tyre (or a heavy duty paddling pool). You're out of control, careering along, extremely wet, then drifting gently in calmer waters, then being wildly thrown around between rocks and around bends, with only two grips to hang on to …… but don't panic
, it's quite safe and you get a comprehensive briefing, full safety gear, wet suits and a fully trained guide/rescue agent to accompany you.
You will be set adrift, all kitted up, on a well-known stretch of river which has a mix of fast and slow running waters. It's the ride of your life as you spin, splice and sweep with the current and hold on to the grip-bars to prevent being bucked out of your tube. If you do, you'll have been briefed what to do, how to get ashore or back into your vessel and there's always someone on hand to help. Your adrenaline rush will be as fast as the flow.
