When in Scotland ….. If you are planning a wee group break to the tartan land, then you really must build in your very own Highland Games experience. This is tremendous fun for a mixed bag of ages, fitness levels and even genders, though we might suggest it is more for the guys than the gals. Don your kilts and try your hand at Tossing the Caber (anyone remember Geoff Capes?), Weight Over Bar (a weight, not yours!), Welly Boot Hurling (just like the wanging version further south), a good old Tug of War and the very traditional Haggis Malt Challenge, which involves the region’s national food and drink.
If you’re a large group then split into two and pit yourselves against each other, own your personal best in the individual games, or dual against the other parties there as you get into that Highland warrior spirit. You’ll be surprised how the challenges bring out the Braveheart in you.
