Cancelation
When booking your break you are going to be tied down to terms and conditions which include cancelation charges.
Most insurance policy will cover these charges if your reason for cancelling is an insurable reason, you can’t just say you don’t want to go – however if, God forbid, someone in your family is taken ill and you cannot attend your holiday, you should be able to claim your money back from your policy.
Medical
If you fall ill abroad and need to see a doctor or go to a hospital, you are going to be left with a hefty bill, having insurance should cover these bills.
Repatriation
This is a very costly way of returning to the UK, so make sure you are covered!
When Buying Travel Insurance Make Sure You….
- Advise the insurance company of any existing medical conditions
- Check the policy covers any activities you may book
- Check your policy covers all your personal circumstances and plans
EHIC
You can get a European Health Insurance Card which will cover you for state medical care, however this will not cover anything else.
