Top Stag Destinations First Up – North Wales

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

When you think about stag parties you think raucous behavior and a lot of Oi Oi!

Well, not necessarily, tarring stag groups with the same brush is a shameful act done by the British press.

Right, let’s take a look at stag dos which are not centred around the bar, obviously there will be beer on the stag do as a stag do without beer is like seeing Dec without Ant, it just hard to comprehend.

North Wales is a great starting point, with bags of stag activities to do in the day, you’ll need a week not a weekend!

Activities currently topping the popular stag activity chart include White Water Rafting, Canyoning, Dirt Buggy Racing, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Hovercrafts and not forgetting the always popular quad biking.

You also have other outdoor activities which include Mountain Biking, Abseiling & Climbing, Canoeing, Raft Building to name just a few.

You then have the accommodation, from clean group hotels, which are usually above a pub in a rural village to 2 – 3 star hotels in Welsh border towns such as Llangollen where there is a bit more life.

At night you have the options of Oswestry, Llangollen, Welshpool and even Chester. I know these destinations aren’t at the top of most popular stag do lists however that’s the beauty of it, no long queues into clubs, no jostling at the bar, just a decent night out around a load of pubs, with your best mates in tow.

Stag Events

To me stag events are when the stag party gets together to do a load of daytime activities with nightlife optional.

I say ‘nightlife optional’ as the stag daytime activities seem to be more or as important as the night life.

Popular stag packages which have this approach can be found in Nottingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, North Wales, Cardiff in fact in the majority of our popular stag do locations.

An example of a popular stag event is the Rage Buggies, Bikes & Boogie weekend in Nottingham, this package includes fantastic daytime activities including quads, laser clays and Rage Buggies.

Other stag do packages which take on this theme include Bournemouth Rocks which is obviously in Bournemouth or the White Water & Wheels weekend in North Wales.

All these packages have amazing daytime activities, giving you an unforgetable stag event.

Stag Do to North Wales Is The Great Get Away

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

After last week when some of the large cities in England saw rare scenes of riots and looting, does it make a lot of sense to book your stag do to North Wales and get way from the big cities?

Well, if you are looking for full on stag do activities such as White Water Rafting, Gorge Walking, Rage Buggies, Quad Biking and Paintball, North Wales has the lot and more.

What your stag weekend in North Wales lacks in nightlife it makes up in a laid back atmosphere, fantastic daytime activities, stunning scenery and friendly locals.

If you want a bar and pub crawl there are plenty of market towns with enough pubs to cater for your needs and remember Chester is only 45 minutes away if you yearn for a big nightclub.

If I was to marry again, North Wales would be my stag do destination of choice, followed closely by Las Vegas, Thailand and then onto Sydney, Australia*.

*Providing money was no object and my future wife didn’t mind me taking a month to six weeks off for my stag do.

Water Way to go in Wales

Monday, March 14th, 2011

Stag Weekends in Wales and exhilarating activities go hand in hand like Charlie Sheen and cigarettes.

White water rafting weekends in Wales are a top stag activity option, all your specialised equipment is included so all you need to do is turn up and tune in.

Other popular adrenalin fuelled activities include gorge walking or canyoning, basically jumping into deep pools from 60 foot ledges and walking under waterfalls and traversing sheer rock faces it’s such great activity, stags come back year after year.

For a more chilled out water experience you can canoe down the river Wye starting in Wales and ending up in Beautiful Herefordshire on the welsh borders.

Water ever you go for on your stag do in Wales be sure to pack your sun cream as in the summer months a suntan is guaranteed even on cloudy days.

Shockingly, Stag Parties are booking up walking weekends

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

Stag dos in North Wales and South Wales are becoming walkers, however, we are not talking about rambling, luckily, we are talking about Gorge scrambling, canyoning or better known as Gorge Walking.

This is not for the faint hearted, you need buoyancy aids, helmets, rope and balls of steel as you jump into deep pools, walk behind waterfalls and traverse across sheer rock faces.

Gorge Walking is becoming a very popular stag activity and is very similar to Coasteering in Newquay, which is also a very popular activity to do on your stag weekend.

“Canyoning (another name for Gorge Walking / Scrambling) is a unique and fantastic activity to do on your stag do, it keeps the boys together all day, giving them danger, excitement and a bit of team bonding to boot”, a spokesman from leading stag do organisers DesignaVenture advised me.

A Stag Do in North Wales, Why?

Friday, January 14th, 2011

Why have a stag do in North Wales when you have Barcelona, Prague and Bournemouth all within easy reach?

Well first of all it may not have the weather but boy does it have the stag do activities.

The White Water Rafting sites are by far the busiest within the UK, and you can expect White Water all year round.

The quad biking sites take in fantastic scenery and give you some of the most exciting treks you will ever experience, with one climbing a mountain to views of seven Counties!

Gorge Scrambling also known as Canyoning is what an outdoor activity should be; exciting, hair raising, group bonding and all with stunning views.

On the North Wales / Shropshire borders you have Clay Pigeon Shooting, Hovercrafting, Karting, Paintball and archery to name but a few.

One thing I haven’t mentioned is that feeling of getting away from it all, one of the major North Wales stag selling points.
