Your flight goes via Amsterdam, we have found this to be the best route, leaving early morning from the UK, with a short stopover in Amsterdam, arriving into Kilimanjaro airport by around 9pm.

MondayMachame Gate to Machame Camp
Day 1
Walking Distance: 11km - Time: 5 - 7 Hours - Habitat: Montane Forest - Elevation: 1,800m to 3,000m
We will drive you from your hotel to Machame Gate at the entrance of the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Once you have signed in we walk through the rainforest up a winding trail to Machame Camp for your first night under canvass.
Watch out for the cheeky monkeys, and we don't mean the stag.
TuesdayMachame Camp to Shira Camp
Day 2
Walking Distance: 9km - Time: 4 - 6 Hours - Habitat: Moorland - Elevation: 3,000m to 3,850m
Tuck into breakfast guys you are going to need it, departing from the rainforest and continuing your trek upwards, you will be walking along heathlands which also includes walking through a gorge arriving at Shira Campsite for hot drinks and dinner.
WednesdayShira Campsite to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Day 3
Walking Distance: 12km - Time: 6 - 7 Hours - Habitat: Semi Desert - Elevation: 3,850m to 4,600m Down to 3,950m
Acclimatisation is the name of the game today boys which will help your body prepare for the summit. This is going to be your hardest day and you may start to feel the symptoms of the altitude. You will trek up to 4,600m and eat your lunch at Lava Tower before descending down to Barranco Camp, where a memorable sunset and dinner will await you at 3,950m above sea level - I bet you thought you'd never be doing this on a stag do!
ThursdayBarranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Day 4
Walking Distance: 7km - Time: 4 Hours - Habitat: Alpine Desert - Elevation: 3,950m to 3,930m
This is your fun acclimatisation day where you will scramble up to the top of Great Barranco Wall before descending down to Karanga Campsite. Today you will get breathtaking views of the Glaciers Heim, Kersten and Decken. Glaciers in Africa who would of thought it!
FridayKaranga Camp to Barafu Camp
Day 5
Walking Distance: 7km - Time: 3 Hours - Habitat: Alpine Desert - Elevation: 3,930m to 4,600m
Leaving Karanga Camp and trekking up to the Barafu campsite. On the way up, you may bump into a few people on their way down from the summit who have taken the Mweka Descent trail, look at their faces boys, I expect they will be full of elation and relief!
SaturdayBarafu Camp to Summit Down to Mweka Hut
Day 6 - The Biggles
To the summit:
Walking Distance: 7km - Time: 6 - 8 Hours - Habitat: Stone scree / Ice Capped - Elevation: 4,600m to 5,895m
Down to Mweka Hut:
Walking Distance: 23km - Time: 6 - 7 Hours - Habitat: Ice Capped to Alpine Desert - Descent: 5,895m to 3,100m
This is the big one boys after a short sleep you will be woken at around 23.30hrs with tea and biscuits. You will trek between two glaciers stopping at Stella Point which is a massive 5,732m above sea level hopefully making it in time for sunrise - ouch!
You then trek to the Uhuru Peak at 5,895m which is the highest point in Africa and the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
At the top of this bitterly cold Mountain, the only way is down, so trekking poles at the ready. By the time you get to Mweka Camp you would of stripped off to possibly shorts and t-shirts!!
Then celebrate your last night on the mountain and possible the best stag do ever!
SundayMweka Hut to a Hotel before heading to the Airport
Day 7
Walking Distance: 8km - Time: 3 - 4 Hours - Habitat: Montane Forest Descent: 3,100m to 1,800m
Descend down through rainforest to Mweka Gate to receive your summit certificates.
You will then be transported back to your hotel for a well needed shower before being picked up to be taken back to Kilimanjaro airport.
DepartFly Home - Kilimanjaro to UK
Flying back to Kilimanjaro means overnight flight, arriving into Amsterdam for first light.
You now have 2 choices:
Head back on the next plan back to blighty
OR
Stay for a night or two in Amsterdam, well this is a stag do!! See
