Timing your visit
The best time to visit Tallinn is between May and September, when days are long (up to 19 hours of sunlight). From December to January it is dark, wet and bitterly cold.

Cuisine
Local cuisine include lots of pork, blood sausages, potatoes, cream, dill and rye breads, smoked fish, especially trout (suitsukala), Vana Tallinn a sickly sweet syrupy extremely strong usually served in coffee. Estonia's best beers are the light Saku beer and the heavier Saare beer. You'll find most types of cuisine in this cosmopolitan city: American, Chinese, Turkish and Indian cuisines are all represented.
