Budapest

Description: |
Hungary’s capital Budapest is steadily making a name for itself as a top choice for stag do’s and hen weekends. This European capital is only a 2½ hour flight from the UK and with so many budget airlines flying there you are sure to get a good deal.
Budapest is a friendly bustling city which falls somewhere between simple traditions and western luxury. The Hungarian language is one of the most difficult languages to learn, fortunately the young generation speak at least one other language usually English. The country’s official currency is Hungarian forint although Euros are accepted in some places. You will find Budapest to be inexpensive in comparison to a lot of other European stag do and hen party destinations.
Some of the favoured local day time activities include: Trabant trek (yester-year local car), shooting down a toboggan run, Canoeing on the Danube, chilling at the thermal bath, visiting the aqua park, fencing, pistol shooting and Kocsma tour (traditional pub tour).
Budapest's beautifully floodlit nightlife boasts a number of large glitzy clubs, huge open-air clubs, and courtyard beer gardens where you can try the local firewater called Palinka (a sort of brandy) or another popular local tipple is Unicum (a syrupy black drink need I say more?). We offer a selection of evening packages including stag dinners, wine tasting, strippers, and guided tours ~ including the casino tours, wine tasting, pub crawls or/and club tours.
All our packages include a local guide, contact number for 24-hour assistance, meet and greet at the airport with a crate of beers! Printed nightlife guide and each member of the group will receive a credit card size ‘get me back to base’ card with your hotel and a local taxi company details on.
Useful Information
Timing your visit
Anytime is a good time to visit Budapest: The party scene runs year-round, during the warm months (March to October) the outdoor cafés and clubs are the places to be seen. When the weather cools down for the winter party season (November to February) the raucous cellar bars are the place to go.
Accommodation
The most popular hotels that we offer in Budapest are 3 Star, which offer excellent value for money and include breakfast. All the hotels we use are conveniently located within walking distance of the sights and nightlife. However we do offer economy accommodation and also more luxurious 4 and 5 star hotels, basically we have hotels to suit all budgets.
Transport
Get around Budapest is very easy. Most things are within easy walking distance of each other but if you don’t fancy walking the metro trains and trams are cheap and regular.
Hungarian Cuisine
When most people think of Hungarian cuisine they think of goulash (an artistically prepared thick soup), here are a few other traditional dishes you may like to try, chicken paprika, porkolt (stew), halaszle (fish soup), grilled pike perch and trout with almonds, goose liver served in a variety of ways. And for dessert strudels, gundel pancakes, somloi dumplings, gesztenyepure (cooked mashed chestnuts with whipped cream) and turos csusza (pasta with curd and sour cream).
